Using adult language with me is perfectly acceptable, and I encourage you to not filter yourself around me. However, you are expected to conduct yourself in a generally respectful manner throughout the process of your commission. Blatant disrespect of any kind will not be tolerated.

Commission requests that do not utilize the form I have provided on each type's page, will not be considered.

You are expected to wait your turn patiently. It is entirely possible I have received multiple commission requests, and I will take care of them in order of reception. If you wish to skip the wait list, you can pay an additional rush fee (see section IV for more info).

You may not pass off my art as your own. You may not trace or resell it. You may make edits to my art for personal use only.

I am under no obligation to accept any commission request, and I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any given time.

Not complying with these terms may result in a cancellation of your commission. Should a commission be cancelled as a result of a breach of my policies, a refund may not be provided, and a ban on future commission slots may be incurred depending on the severity of the breach.

All prices are listed in Euro (€).

Payment is to be made through PayPal invoice. Dutch commissioners have the additional option of paying via direct bank transfer. And, of course, tips are always welcome.

The invoice will not be sent until it is your turn. You will receive a heads up in DMs.

Do not send funds before an invoice is sent. All payments are to be made through the invoice I send you. PayPal payments made outside of invoices will be refunded immediately. Payments made through Ko-Fi are considered tips, and are non-refundable.

I take full payment upfront. Your commission will not be started until I have received 100% of the commission fee.

Payment is expected within 48 hours of the invoice being sent. Failure to do so will result in immediate cancellation of your commission, and unless a good reason is provided, you may not claim any future commission slots.

When your commission is approved, an invoice will be sent with the pricing of your commission broken down. Any additional fees not listed on this website will be discussed with the commissioner prior to sending.

I will start working on your commission once full payment has been made.

Once the sketch has been approved by the commissioner, no big changes will be allowed from that point on.

WIP images will be provided occasionally. You are allowed to request small changes each time I do so. If I have not sent a WIP or any other kind of update in at least two weeks, you are allowed to check in with me.

Allow me at least a month to complete your commission once it is your turn. Depending on the complexity of your commission, I may be able to finish it quicker, or take more time.

If you need your commission completed by a certain date, let me know by telling me in your commission form. Giving me a deadline will incur an automatic rush fee on your invoice.

Rush fees are + €10 for commissions under €40, and +50% for commissions above that price.

Should I not be able to make a given deadline, a full refund of the rush fee will be provided.

By commissioning me, you’re purchasing my artist labor and a digital copy of your commissioned artwork. I retain all the rights to my work, which include but are not limited to the right to distribute, reproduce, copy and/or use the image as a sample for sales or self-promotion.

If you’d like the commission to remain private (not ever published anywhere), an extra fee of +25% will be charged.

Public use of final products must be accompanied by proper and clear credit to me (@TheOceanEmpress) at all times.

Personal use of final products is allowed. This means you are authorized to use your commission as e.g. your icon, banner, background, etc. In short, any way that does not result in financial gain for the commissioner.

Commercial use = 300% of base price (e.g. for games/books/projects/franchises/etc.). If you wish to sell merchandise using my art, I receive 30% of the royalties, and we must have agreed upon this kind of arrangement beforehand. Credit must always be given (@TheOceanEmpress).

Under NO circumstances is the use or editing of my artwork for NFTs or AI allowed.

Using my artwork to promote negativity or bigotry of any kind is expressly forbidden.

Cancelled/refunded products cannot be published in any way, and I reserve the right to have them removed if I deem your use to be inappropriate.

Not complying with any of these terms may result in me revoking personal use authorization of the final product at any given time.

If you wish to cancel your commission during the sketch stage, you will be refunded 50% of what you’ve paid.

Cancellations made after the sketching stage are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellations caused by the commissioner breaking the TOS are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellations caused by me, the artist, because of personal reasons that prevent me from finishing your commission, are eligible for a full refund.

PayPal chargebacks are strictly prohibited. If you file a chargeback against me, your authorization to use everything I have ever made for you will be revoked, and I have the right to sell the copyrighted artwork to new buyers. Additionally, I will file a complaint with PayPal, as I retain the right to any funds you have sent me for my labor.

Breaking the TOS or filing a PayPal chargeback means you directly consent to having your name and our interactions made public in order to protect other artists from your harmful practices. I will not be held accountable for any repercussions that may occur as a result.
